Here at Bob Penkhus Volvo Cars, drivers in the Colorado Springs area are able to find quality electric vehicles. There are two options that are similar in many ways, but are different enough to offer a unique experience behind the wheel. These are the Volvo XC40, and the Volvo EX30. You're invited to learn more about each one and find out what's right for you.
Starting with the Volvo XC40. It is a standard mild hybrid option, but where it compares to the new Volvo EX30 is with the Volvo XC40 Recharge trim. This is a pure electric vehicle. It is able to offer its regular four-cylinder 194-horsepower engine, but with its all-wheel drive B5 engine, you're getting 247 horsepower using only electric power. The Volvo XC40 Recharge is able to attain around 293 miles of driving range with its larger battery pack and delivers 118 miles per gallon of electric equivalent (MPGe) standard.
By comparison, the Volvo EX30 has a single electric motor setup with 275 miles of driving range, or a twin-motor with 265 miles. It also is able to be charged at home with a Level 2 charger, or at public and fast charging stations. It's able to get from 10 percent to 80 percent charged at a DC fast charging station in about 26 minutes, it is powerful as it can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds.
Both present quality power and range. Most of it comes down to your preferences based on factors like size. The Volvo XC40 Recharge is a longer vehicle by about 8.1 inches and is four inches taller. So, if you need that extra bit of room, it might be the one for you. That said, the new Volvo EX30 is plenty spacious in its own right, and that's all the more reason to come through and learn more about them at our dealership serving those in Castle Rock, Monument, and Parker, CO.
You'll find that both interiors are comfortable and made with high-quality, sustainable materials to provide premium levels of comfort for you and your passengers. You're going to be able to enjoy intuitive connective technology such as large 12.3-inch touch displays integrated with Google so you can use Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play to get the applications voice command and navigation you need seamlessly. Each also offers Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ along with wireless charging pads for your devices. There are over-the-air updates available for these vehicles as well so things like mapping and other technology can be updated without you needing to upload them yourself via a microSD card.
