Meet Eric and Porsha, a father-daughter duo who bring a unique dynamic to our service team. They are talented mechanics who seamlessly blend their familial bond with their professional roles at Bob Penkhus Motor Company. Their collaboration not only showcases their prowess as skilled technicians but also exemplifies the strong sense of unity and dedication we value within our team. Introducing Eric


Eric discovered his passion for automotive repair at a young age. He got his first car when he was 16 and began developing his technical skills while working on it. He then joined our service team in 1987. Eric is a Master Volvo Technician and believes the brand creates some of the safest, family-oriented vehicles on the market. In fact, he even brought Porsha home from the hospital in a Volvo! As a result, his position is more than just a job title; at Bob Penkhus Motor Company, Eric gets to work on something he truly believes in.

Introducing Porsha


Porsha looked up to her dad ever since she was little. When she turned 16, she and Eric rebuilt a Mustang engine together. It was during this project that Porsha discovered her interest in cars, just like her dad did long ago. Even though she initially considered pursuing cosmetology school, her newfound hobby led her to enroll in an automotive programming course. While taking the class, Porsha realized she wanted to pursue a career in the automotive industry. After two and a half years of training, Porsha became a Master Certified Volvo Technician at Bob Penkhus Motor Company. Since then, she has remained a truly irreplaceable asset to our team.

Balancing Family Life & Mentorships
 

Porsha began her career at Bob Penkhus Motor Company under her dad's mentorship. Eric believed Porsha's mentorship was similar to others he had done in the past in that it was hands-on, technical, and supportive. However, their familial relationship added an extra layer of comfort, allowing them to be more direct with each other. This tight bond and Eric's strong desire to see his daughter succeed enabled Porsha to advance quickly in her career.
Porsha greatly appreciated all the work her dad put into mentoring her, but she also immensely valued the support she received from everyone else in the shop. Since her dad has worked at Bob Penkhus Motor Company for decades, her new coworkers watched her grow up. They saw her potential, supported her every step of the way, and truly wanted her to succeed. This workplace culture made her feel like family, and she knew Bob Penkhus Motor Company was the perfect place for her to turn her passion into a career.

Synchrony in the Garage


Now that Porsha is a fully-trained technician, she approaches every project with confidence and an incredible skill set. In fact, her skills often complement those of her father. Whenever she is working on a challenging project, Eric can provide valuable guidance. However, her analytical skills come in handy when he needs help solving a problem. They both enjoy resolving complex car troubles, and their complementary talents make the job even more rewarding.

Where Family & Careers Flourish



As a mentor, Eric loves seeing novice employees master their roles. However, Porsha's achievements are particularly rewarding for him. They both agree that the family-oriented culture at Bob Penkhus Motor Company is one of the driving forces behind their accomplishments. Their coworkers operate like a tight-knit team, and they appreciate that everyone is willing to go above and beyond to create an environment that sets technicians up for success.
