Each year we donate $1,500 for 100 wreaths for the graves of our local fallen soldiers.

Pikes Peak Soap Box Derby

2022

On June 12th, 2022 we had the privilege of sponsoring and competing in the Pikes Peak Soap Box Derby. The Soap Box Derby® is an international nonprofit organization whose mission is to build knowledge and character, and to create meaningful experiences through collaboration and fair, honest competition. Everyone at Bob Penkhus is so proud of our racer, Aria Immormino, for placing 2nd in the Superstock Race! We also received Best Car in Show and Fastest Race in Division Heat.

Family Car Donation

2022

In February of 2022, we learned of a family that truly needed our help. This family lost their home to Hurricane Harvey and ultimately sought a new life in Colorado. After living in their car and now, a shelter, these parents continue to do everything in their power to support their children ages 1, 2, and 3. However, recently, the couple became victims of a hit and run, and on Feb. 2, their car was impounded with extensive damage. We knew we needed to take action, which is why Bob Penkhus donated a safe and reliable vehicle to this deserving family in hopes of giving them a hand-up on their new life.

Sarah Calhoun House Fire Donation Drive

2022

In February of 2022, news struck of an unexpected house fire affecting District 11 5th grade teacher and single parent, Sara Calhoun. After losing her home and all of her belongings, we wanted to help bring some relief to her current situation in any way possible. Our Bob Penkhus team reached out to the community, asking for donations, and we matched all donations dollar for dollar.

Marshall Fire Efforts

2022

Our hearts were broken after hearing of the tragedy that struck the community of Marshall and the amount of loss the victims had endured from the devastating fire. We knew we had to help, so we offered the victims a 20% discount for repair on a vehicle damaged in the fire and/or $500 towards replacing a vehicle. For those who claimed this offer to purchase a new vehicle, we also delayed their car payments for up to 6 months, giving them more time to focus on what really matters-their family's well-being and their own.

Adopt A Family Christmas Drive

2021

For Christmas of 2021, Bob Penkhus Motor Company joined non-profit, Pikes Peak United Way, in its Adopt A Family Christmas Drive by adopting nine families from Harrison School District 2. We then collected financial donations from the community to supply these nine families with gifts and essentials in time for Christmas. With the help of our supportive community, we were able to make Christmas a little brighter for these families.

Coats for Colorado

2021

In fall of 2021, we knew we could make a difference in many lives by partnering with non-profit Coats for Colorado to prepare Colorodans for the winter season. We reached out to the community for help, and from October 1st to October 30th, we accepted donations of warm coats. Anyone who donated two coats received a $10 discount for an oil change at Bob Penkhus. With help, we were able to provide hundreds of Coloradans with warm coats.

Back to School Drive

2021

In July of 2021, we hosted a Back to School Drive for Harrison School District 2, in hopes of filling a new Mazda CX-30 with a trunk full of school supplies. The drive was a success and with the help of community donations, we were able to give $1,000 to District 2 as well as a trunk full of school supplies.

Free Vehicle Sanitizing

2020

At the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, we offered Free Vehicle Sanitizing for first responders including all law enforcement, fire rescue, emergency medical technician/service, and healthcare providers. They were fighting day and night for us, so we wanted to give back to them any way we could.
